SUNDAY STREETS AT THE GREAT HIGHWAY

Supervisor Carmen Chu invites you to the Biggest Party ever in the Sunset!

Penguins to Penguins route connects CA Academy of Sciences to the SF Zoo through Golden
Gate Park and along the Great Highway August 9 and September 6 (10:00 am to 2:00 pm).

Sunday Streets creates a safe, fun, car-free place for people to get out and get active in San
Francisco neighborhoods. The inaugural Sunday Streets events in 2008 drew more than 15,000
people each weekend creating huge demand for more. Last month's event in the Mission drew
upwards of 25,000 participants! Each of the four routes (over six events) in 2009 has opened the
streets to Bay Area residents and visitors to explore different neighborhoods and participate in a
wide variety of activities. In addition to dancing, biking, skating, walking, hula hooping, yoga,
and people watching, our final two events of 2009 will host live music, cultural programming
unique to the Sunset and Richmond neighborhoods, penguin themed arts and activities for the
kids, and the opportunity to explore San Francisco's picturesque ocean front community.
