The Asian Pacific Islander American Public Affairs Association Community Education Foundation - Bay Area Chapter (APAPA-BAC) will be conducting the 2nd Annual Voters Education & Candidates Forum on September 19, 2009 from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM at the Santa Clara Convention Center. This Forum is Free and Open to the Public.
The Theme of the Forum is: Our Future in California - Deficit, Budget Cut and Taxation. During these challenging times, all Californians need to pay attention to these critical issues. This Forum features many politicians who are in positions to be the next California Governor, including:
- Steve Westly (D) - Former California State Controller
- John Chiang (D) - California State Controller
- Meg Whitman (R) - eBay CEO and Gubernatorial Candidate
- Jerry Brown (D) - California Attorney General and Former Governor (Invited)
- Tom Campbell (R) - US Congressman and Gubernatorial Candidate
- Steve Poizner (R) - California Ins. Commissioner/ Gubernatorial Candidate
- Gavin Newsom (D) - San Francisco Mayor (Invited)
In addition to these prominent speakers, the forum will also feature Assembly Majority Leader Alberto Torrico, Assemblymembers Paul Fong , Fiona Ma , Ted Lieu, Mary Hayashi, San Jose Mayor Chuck Reed and many others.
